Special Celebration 2010 has been designated as “The International Year of the Nurse” by The International Nursing Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau; the Nightingale Initiative for Global Health; and the Florence Nightingale Museum in London. International Year of the Nurse is designated to both recognize nurses around the world and to help promote the United Nations eight millennium development goals, which are impacted directly and indirectly by nurses.
Mary Washington Healthcare has developed a year of activities to celebrate and to educate our community about the many diverse roles that nurses provide in our hospitals, facilities, programs, and community. There are a wide variety of activities and opportunities to recognize nurses within our community.
