Dr. Mary Shuman, OB/Gyn, Mary Washington Healthcare
We offer the following types of care:
The Family Birth Place
As part of our women’s health services, we offer a family birth place at both Mary Washington Hospital and Stafford Hospital – a special, warm environment for families to celebrate the birth of the newest family member while surrounded by the latest technology. Our commitment to family-centered care includes special programs and visiting hours for siblings, grandparents and other family members.
Pediatric care
Children and their families will feel secure and comfortable in our pediatric unit. Thanks to our partnership with Children’s National Medical Center, we offer a full range of pediatric services.
Imaging for women
At the Imaging Center for Women, our patients receive the most advanced care in a place thoughtfully created to accommodate women's needs. Experienced physicians and technologists perform a variety of diagnostics including mammography, ultrasound, and bone densitometry to measure bone health and screen for osteoporosis.
We also perform stereotactic breast biopsy, an alternative to the traditional surgical biopsy. This effective procedure is done on an outpatient basis with less discomfort and scarring.
The Imaging Center for Women is a partnership between Mary Washington Healthcare and Radiology Associates of Fredericksburg.
Mary Washington Hospital has partnered with Spirit of Women, a coalition of hospitals and healthcare systems devoted to supporting women and their healthcare needs.
Physician Members
