Hospital Trauma Education

Mary Washington Hospital’s staff of dedicated physicians, physician extenders, nurses, and other healthcare professionals maintains the highest level of certifications in order to be prepared to treat critically injured patients at a moment’s notice. Hospital physicians, physician extenders and nurses are offered continuing education that provide both instructive and skill performance sessions.

Multi-disciplinary Trauma Lunch and Learns
Held, with discussions about various trauma-related injuries and interventions, on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm of every month.

Trauma Nursing Symposiums
Held on a quarterly basis, providing evidence-based practice education for nurses wanting to attain or remain competent in care of the injured patient.

  • Thursday, March 22, 2012, 4:00pm to 8:00pm
  • Monday, June 18, 2012, 8:00am to noon
  • Saturday, September 15, 2012, 8:00 to noon
  • Wednesday, December 12, 2012, 4:00pm to 8:00pm

All classes will be held in the Tompkins Martin Building, Auditoriums A & B.

Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
Held in collaboration with the Emergency Department, the are available for professionals seeking more education in the trauma field.
