Emergency & Outpatient Center - Lee's Hill

Welcome to the Mary Washington Hospital Emergency Department at Lee’s Hill, a full-service ambulance-receiving emergency department (ED), open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Staffed with the same skilled physicians and nurses as Mary Washington and Stafford Hospital Emergency Departments, this new state-of-the-art facility is located in the Emergency and Outpatient Center at Lee’s Hill.  We provide a convenient alternative for emergency care.  We treat all patients regardless of their ability to pay.

As a member of the Mary Washington Healthcare family, the Emergency Department at Lee’s Hill offers you the same high quality and personalized care you have come to expect at the Mary Washington ED at the main hospital campus.  Also, as part of this large health system, we can ensure that your complete medical record is available and will be updated.

Family and Friends in the Treatment Area

• Up to two visitors can stay with you in the treatment area.  This is at the nurse’s discretion.
• One of them can update other family and friends in the ED waiting area.
• Visitors may be asked to leave temporarily if the ED gets extremely busy or crowded.
• Children under age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian with them at all times.

The ED Team Caring for You

Your care team includes:

• Physicians
• Physician assistants
• Nurses
• Paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs)
• Consultant specialists (if necessary)
• Your personal physician may be called to help with your Plan of Care

Our ED physicians are board-certified in Emergency Medicine, and our registered nurses are all highly trained and competent in Emergency Nursing care.  Our support staff is equally skilled, trained, and experienced to meet your needs.  Our entire staff is dedicated to providing you with excellent care, while working to make your visit as comfortable as any emergency medical care visit can be.

Before Leaving: Get Your Discharge Instructions

• We give you instructions on the care you will need after you leave the ED.
• You may be given a prescription, and/or be advised on what medications to take and how to take them.
• It is very important to understand and follow your discharge instructions.
• Your nurse will answer any questions about your ongoing care.
• You are responsible for making follow-up appointments.

Charges for the Visit

• Because we are part of Mary Washington Hospital, we bill your insurance provider directly.
• You may get a follow-up bill for any unpaid portion.
• Physicians’ bills are separate.  You will get bills for physicians and specialists who take part in your care (radiologist, cardiologist, etc).

The Emergency Department at Lee’s Hill treats all patients who come to us for care, regardless of their ability to pay.

People to Contact about Problems or Questions

• At the Emergency Department at Lee’s Hill, you may speak to the nurse who is providing your care.
• You may also ask to speak to the nurse manager regarding any needs or concerns you may have during your visit.
• Mary Washington Hospital’s Patient and Guest Relations department may also be contacted upon your request.

Food and Snack

We have vending machines with soft drinks and light snacks located in the lobby for visitors and family members.  Patients will be provided with nourishments while in the care area based on their medical condition.
