Board-certified cancer specialists Patients are cared for by a team of physicians who are experienced in early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term follow-up of cancer. Physicians from a variety of disciplines attend regular cancer conferences to provide crucial input and insight regarding cancer treatment decisions. This means patients will have the expertise of the entire team, which includes pathologists, radiologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and surgeons, collaborating on your behalf. This multidisciplinary approach to care truly keeps the patient at the center of all care decisions. Early detection and advanced diagnostics To determine the right course of treatment, we offer comprehensive, high-tech radiology and laboratory services. All tests can be completed at Mary Washington Hospital or at one of our outpatient imaging centers or laboratories in the area. We also hold annual screening events for colon and prostate cancer. The Imaging Center for Women and Mary Washington Healthcare's Mobile Mammography Van provide breast cancer screening on a continual basis. Cancer treatments work best when cancers are found early, so talk with your physician about when you should begin screening and how often.
