Sara Phillippe

Administrative Director, Nursing Center of Excellence 

Sara Phillippe is a registered nurse with 30 years of nursing experience, earning her BSN from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Master of Healthcare Administration from Bellevue University. She started at Mary Washington Healthcare as a pediatric nurse and has accepted clinical and non-clinical leadership opportunities to become the administrative director for the Nursing Center of Excellence. 

Ms. Phillippe is responsible for the advanced practice nurses, nursing education and professional practice, and nursing research functions. She manages the Mobile Health Service for the provision of primary care to a five-county area. She is the project director for Mary Washington Hospital’s Professional Excellence Journey for Magnet designation. Ms. Phillippe is a popular speaker for community events as well as for professional healthcare organizations. Most recently she was the keynote speaker at the Virginia Department of Health’s 2007 Arthritis Summit, a statewide conference that attracted both healthcare and lay health individuals. Ms. Phillippe received Mary Washington Healthcare’s Pillar of Excellence Award for Outstanding Leadership in May 2007.
